About Canine Characters of Warrandyte
‘Canine Characters of Warrandyte’ started as a way of giving the people I see regularly when walking my dogs a little Christmas gift. I decided to do some bookmarks - each would have the owner’s dog and 5 others on it that they might recognise. Once I started doing them, I could not wait to give them to people. I finally gave up on bookmark 33, having photographed well over 180 dogs. I had been asked what ELSE I was going to do with the photos, was I going to do a book? After further contemplation I decided I would do a book and sell it for the cost of the printing plus a donation to the Blue Cross in Wonga Park. I also decided to do a website. All the photos have been taken along the Yarra River Track in Warrandyte, between Warrandyte Bridge and Everard Drive. In all there are 163 dogs in the book of all shapes and sizes. The eldest was 20 years old at the time of the photograph, the youngest about 3 months. Some were acquired from breeders, some from pet shops, some were rescued and rehomed. All are much loved pets.
